Our studio is actively involved with the following non-profit and community organizations:

Christi Barbour:

  • Association Board Member, YMCA of High Point
  • Board Member, Forward High Point
  • Board Member, High Point University Advisory Board to the Interior Design program
  • Executive Board Member, High Point Market Authority
  • Christi also founded the immensely popular blog, High Point Discovered, in which she and her contributors share the very best of High Point, from its rising stars to creative innovators—calling special attention to the leaders and entrepreneurs throughout the community. Through this vehicle, she has inspired other dreamers to start their own businesses and live their dreams.

Christi Spangle:

  • Board of Directors, High Point Convention & Visitors Bureau
  • Christi is actively involved in her community, various non-profit organizations and local government. She currently serves on the Board for the Bernice Bienenstock Furniture Library where she spear-headed the overhaul of the Bernice Bienenstock Furniture Library Interior Design Competition in 2012, transforming it from a small, local contest to a national competition providing thousands of dollars in scholarship funding to design students. Christi is currently the Chair and Lead Judge for this competition. In addition, she sits in on various school portfolio reviews to help students develop a strong portfolio for job interviews upon entering the marketplace. She also sits on the board for the High Point Convention and Visitor’s Bureau.

Morgan White:

  • Serves as a State Field Director for the Miss North Carolina Scholarship Competition: a federally recognized 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to empowering young women to achieve their personal, professional, and educational goals. Volunteer for the Community Clinic of High Point, an organization providing health care to High Point’s uninsured.

Stephanie Strawn:

  • Serves on the Board of Trustees for High Point Friends School since 2017

Susan Bain:

  • Serves as a volunteer for A Special Blend Coffee, a 501C3 coffee shop created to serve a great cup of coffee while providing employment and training for adults with developmental disabilities. She also works as an event coordinator and service manager at Chez Genes, a French inspired bistro that employs adults with developmental disabilities.

Breast Cancer Awareness

The Barbour Spangle Team has spent the last 15 years serving organizations that seek to raise awareness and find a cure for Breast Cancer. Those organizations include The Susan Komen Foundation, Common Thread for the Cure, Alight Foundation and Pink Ribbon Luncheon.
ASID
Emma Legg volunteers her time on the Executive Committee for ASID.
G3
Anne Barnhardt volunteered with G3, a group of women in Greensboro that fund families in need by gathering food, money, clothes, tutoring, etc. Together, they do whatever they can do to help families in need that are brought to their attention.

Susan Komen Race for the Cure

Each year Barbour Spangle Design organizes a team to raise money for the Komen Foundation. We’ve been recognized in the top 10 fundraisers for the Winston race.

Christi Spangle actively supports the college in its mission of Creating Opportunities and Changing Lives.

Christi Spangle serves on the Board for the Bernice Bienenstock Furniture Library, the largest furniture specialty library in the world.

Alight supplies information for patients going through breast cancer in all aspects where to find answers and help with their diagnosis Anne Barnhardt sat on the committee for this breast cancer charity.
The Children’s Home
Brianne Dewey volunteers her time as a Tise Cottage Respite Care Volunteer.
Randolph Community College Advisory Board
Christi Spangle – Member for 2011-2014. The Interior Design Advisory Board works directly with RCC students to insure their education is directly related to current design practices.

Common Thread for the Cure

Christi Barbour and Christi Spangle 2007-2013 Co-VP of Industry Relations. Provides grants to women in the home furnishings industry affected by breast cancer.

Christi Barbour served as judge in the 2013 annual furniture design competition.
ASID Carolina Chapter
Christi serves as Welcome Committee Chair 2013-2014 for the Carolina’s Chapter to greet, welcome and inform new members into the chapter.
