Look For Less
These days, furniture and accessories can be so expensive. It’s difficult to put together a great room without breaking the bank or compromising the aesthetic that you’re going for. But what if you want to re-do your home – or even just one room – without spending a fortune? Well, you’ve come to the right place … or the right blog post.
You can find this project on our website. We call it Staying in the Neighborhood. We’re crazy obsessed with the elements in the living room (not to mention the whole house) that create a neutral, modern sanctuary. Follow the link to see the complete project, or keep scrolling to find out how you can achieve this look without giving up your right arm.
I created this room collage using Polyvore – a fun site that you can use for all of your collage-ing needs – to give you an idea of how the modern and neutral aesthetic can be achieved with products that you can find at retail stores (or online sites) near you. Curious about a product you see? Click on it to find out more. And now …
How to get the look:
In addition to the products above, I would add a few dark, modern picture frames to contrast the light walls and maybe even paint the trim around the doors in the room a darker color. If possible, creating an accent wall of stone would add beautiful natural texture to your room. Final touch: accessories. Simple is the way to go to achieve this look, so keep it minimal.
Readers: use these products as your guide if you’re trying to put together a room similar to the one above. The products don’t have to be exactly the same. What matters most is form, scale and color.
Best of luck!
