What Inspires Emma
I am most inspired by clients and people, my heart is happy when I know that I have designed a space created around the people who will live there. My biggest passion is finding out what clients love and making it happen for them. For me it is like a puzzle, figuring out how all the different elements of design will work together, thinking about what will bring the room to life and at the same time have a personal connection to the client. I’m a big believer that everyone should live in a space that makes them smile, feel at peace, and tell the story of who they are. I love this image of a beautifully designed living room. You can automatically tell they love dogs and that the fabrics chosen are most likely pet/kid friendly. The room also looks collected, telling the story of who lives there through the books, artwork, and accessories.
It’s all about the details that can liven up a room and bring in personal touches. As you can see in these images, using your favorite flower or a funky trim, can personalize a space instantly.
I also find inspiration in products, I love to come across new and different things that I have not seen before! It is amazing how simple spaces such as bathrooms or laundry rooms can be dramatically transformed by adding wallpaper or patterned tile.
Speaking of products, inspiration can also start from everyday objects like hardware, who knew that something so simple can be so chic!
Finally, my guilty pleasure of inspiration comes from spaces or objects that have an eclectic mix with a slight feminine touch to them. You will find me endlessly pinning these types of images on Pinterest.
Whether it is in the color palette, shape, or a light fixture – I am drawn to the perfect balance of simple, clean lines vs. elegant, delicate details. Anything that has a light, ethereal vibe to it speaks my language.
